Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm Review

Hi everyone, you know when you reaallllllly like something so you buy it in multiple every colour possible? Well that's the situation I am facing right now with the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms. I don't know how it happened... but I now own 7 of these bad boys. There are 10 shades available in total and they retail at £7.99 each. I got most of mine when they first came out at a cheaper price, or have got them in a Boots 3for2 deal... I love to snap up a deal when I see one. Here are some swatches and a mini review on them.

Below the colours from Left to Right are; 235/Mischievous, 245/Audacious, 225/Sultry, 250/Standout, 205/Elusive, 215/Shameless, and 220/Showy.

These lip products are extremely opaque and very matte looking as well as being moisturising on the lips- it's a miracle! As first I was a bit sceptical about them as my lips are already very dry (gross) at this time of year, but I was wrong to think these would worsen the situation. Revlon also do a Lacquer Balm version but when I swatched them in the shop they looked quite glittery- a big no no for me.

These are the  shades 235/Mischievous (left) and 245/Audacious (right) which are the more orange toned shades I have. Mischievous is a kind of orange sorbet shade whereas Audacious is a bright orange. These both look great with a tan! Swatches are below for you to see.

On the left are the two warmer toned shades I own, they are the shades Sultry250 (left) and Standout205 (right). Sultry is a dark brown-ish nude- perfect for a darker skin tone. Standout is exactly what it says- a standout blue toned red. The shade is similar to MAC's Russian Red and it makes your teeth look so white! Swatches are shown below.

On the left are the last three shades which are 205/Elusive (left)215/Shameless (middle), and 220/Showy (right). Elusive is probably the easiest colour to wear during the day as it's a pinky-nude shade and I love it. Shameless is a deep vibrant purple which I actually bought for my friend (hi Bianca) because she loves it so much as well. The last shade- Showy is a bright Barbie pink which will look great in the Spring months.

To round this post up, I'd say that the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms are well worth the hype. They are pigmented, long lasting, and come in a range of beautiful colours to suit all skin types. My favourite one for every day wear is probably 'Elusive' so if you want to buy one but are not sure what shade I would say that one!

Hope that everyone has a nice weekend

  1. I love this review, it helped so much! It's so hard to find matte lip balms with good staying power but these are perfect! I've been anxious to buy these for weeks now but I bought Audacious today and I adore it already. Thanks for the push in the right direction! xxx
